We are the
World Phygital Community
The World Phygital Community (WPC) brings together global pioneers in the field of phygital sports.
A non-profit and non-commercial association, our mission is to promote phygital sport around the world, drive innovation, and define the rules of competition.
We also oversee and regulate tournaments at an in-country regional (GOTF Origins) and national (GOTF Rivals) level, providing a pathway for teams and clubs across the world to participate in the annual international Games of the Future (GOTF).
Our membership is open to organizations interested in developing phygital sports in their countries, establishing local phygital communities and uniting a worldwide collective of athletes, clubs and fans.

What is
phygital sport?
Phygital is a fusion of physical and digital. Phygital sport combines traditional sports with digital technology to create a hybrid experience.
It blends the physical aspects of sports (such as real-world activity, equipment, and venues) with virtual or digital elements (such as augmented reality, virtual reality, and gamification).
Phygital sports particularly appeal to younger audiences by combining the fun, interactive aspects of digital gaming with the physical benefits and social aspects of legacy sports.
Phygital sports will continue to become ever more popular in a world where technology is increasingly integrated into all aspects of life.
Games of the Future
The Games of the Future is an annual international multi-sport tournament that blends traditional physical sports with digital and virtual elements to create a unique phygital competition.
It’s the biggest tournament of its kind. The inaugural Games of the Future saw over 2000 participants from more than 100 countries gather to compete in a range of phygital disciplines – with over 300,000 spectators on the ground and billions more watching worldwide. GOTF 2025, to be held in the UAE, is expected to be even more spectacular.
WPC membership is open to any organization that is interested in establishing and growing phygital sport within their country, and which commits to holding ranking tournaments with that country. These include associations, institutions, partnerships, societies, clubs, universities, colleges, schools, and governmental or regulatory bodies.*
Becoming a member is easy. Simply fill out and submit the application forms, along with a completed questionnaire and any supporting documents. The WPC’s membership committee will then review your application and notify you, within three months, if you have been successful.
*Only legal entities, not individuals, can become members.

The WPC Ranking System
The WPC’s tournaments (GOTF Origins and GOTF Rivals) are how players and clubs qualify for the Games of the Future.
Tournaments are graded on a variety of criteria (size, number of competitors, disciplines etc.) and winners and participants receive ranking points according to how well they perform in each tournament.
Teams and players with the highest number of ranking points become eligible to enter the GOTF qualifying rounds (Phygital Contenders) before progressing to the Games of the Future.
The system is designed to ensure fairness and an equal opportunity to take part in this spectacular international sporting and cultural event.
