Teams and individuals wishing to participate in Games of the Future 2025 should first apply to take part in phygital tournaments in their country. Regional tournaments are called GOTF Minors, while national tournaments are called GOTF Majors. The top 1-2 teams in GOTF Majors qualify directly for GOTF, while teams ranked 3-26 proceed to the GOTF Qualifiers. If there are no GOTF Majors or GOTF Minors in your country, you can take part in tournaments in any other country. Teams and individuals in phygital sport are not restricted by nationality.
- Start of GOTF Minors: October 1, 2024
- End of GOTF Minors: November 30, 2024
- Start of GOTF Majors: December 1, 2024
- End of GOTF Majors: January 30, 2025
The WPC Ranking System imposes penalties for hosting tournaments outside the specified dates and deadlines. Please consider this when planning your activities.

The WPC currently appoints partners for the four core ranking disciplines – Phygital Football, Phygital Basketball, Phygital Shooter and Phygital Dancing. This means there can only be a maximum of four partners in any country. Therefore, if someone already holds the rights to Phygital Football in your country, it will not be possible for you to apply for that discipline. You may still secure rights to other disciplines – but only if no other partner in your country already owns the rights. A list of current rights holders around the world can be found in our members’ catalogue.
Game and simulator licenses for GOTF Minor or GOTF Major phygital tournaments are provided by the authorized partner (LPC). For assistance, please contact WPC.
No, GOTF Minors and GOTF Majors must take place within the WPC member’s registered country and its specific territorial units (e.g. city, province, or district).

Also note that slots for non-ranking disciplines for Games of the Future are not guaranteed.
